Matt Siu O.D. graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. He then went on to earn a dual degree in Masters of Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 2016.
During his clinical rotations at the University Eye Center Contact Lens Clinic in Manhattan, he focused on the evaluation and fitting of specialty contact lenses, including multifocal, corneal reshaping therapy (orthokeratology), gas permeable, hybrid, scleral lenses, and prosthetics in patients with various and complicated anterior segment diseases. He was also trained at the Ezra Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he diagnosed and treated ocular disease and binocular vision disorders in both the pediatric and adult population.
Dr. Siu completed the National Eye Institute (NEI) Pre-Doctoral Summer Research Fellowship in 2013 where he co-authored the article “Stimulus Characteristics Affect Assessment of Pupil Defects in Amblyopia” published in April 2015 in the Optometry and Vision Science, the official journal of the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Siu is certified by the National Board of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Maryland Optometric Association. Dr. Siu is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin Chinese.
